Neighbor told me his furnace guy charges $65 just to show up, so I started watching YouTube videos instead
Last week my neighbor Dave was out shoveling and mentioned he paid $65 just for a guy to come look at his furnace and say the igniter was bad. That got me thinking about how much I was paying for small stuff around the house. I found a channel where a guy in Parma walks through basic furnace fixes with just a multimeter and a screwdriver. I watched 3 videos on Saturday and cleaned my flame sensor myself, which would've cost me at least $150. Has anyone else tried doing their own basic HVAC stuff or is that too risky when it gets below 20 here?
