Pulled the trigger on a '68 Galaxie over a '65 Impala and the neighbors won't let it go

Found both sitting in a barn outside Dayton about 20 minutes apart, and the Impala had a nicer body but the Galaxie had the 390 and a fresh interior, so I went Ford. Now my neighbor Dave, who has owned three Impalas, gives me a hard time every single time he walks past my driveway. Did I pick wrong, or is Dave just loyal to his own badge?
