Found an old '67 Fairlane at a barn auction near Topeka
Went to a farm auction outside Topeka last month just to look around. There was this '67 Fairlane GT sitting in the back of a barn, covered in hay and dust. The owner's son said it hadn't run since 1998, but the odometer showed 61,000 miles. I popped the hood and the 390 was still there, not seized, just filthy. Bidding started at $800 and I got it for $1,400 after a guy in a cowboy hat dropped out. Now I'm wondering if I should try to fire it up as is or tear the carb down first. Anyone else take a chance on a barn find that turned out to be a money pit or a gem?
