Two-hour layover in Denver turned into a stranger handing me their boarding pass

I was stuck at gate B42 after my flight got delayed twice. A guy next to me overheard me on the phone telling my sister I'd miss her wedding rehearsal. He just handed me his upgrade voucher and said 'take it, I fly this route every week.' I barely knew him but he insisted. I got on the earlier flight, made it with 40 minutes to spare. Never got his last name, only that he works for a brewery in Fort Collins. Has anyone else had a total stranger fix a travel disaster out of nowhere? What did you do to thank them?
