Found out my mailman has been sorting our street by hand for 22 years

I was grabbing a package from him last Tuesday and asked how he remembers 80+ houses on our route without GPS. He just laughed and said he memorized every name and dog on this street before smartphones existed. Turns out he knew my old neighbor's cat's name, and that cat died in 2016. I know some people hate on the postal service, but this guy is a walking local archive. Has anyone else had a delivery person surprise them with that level of detail about their neighborhood?
