My cat unplugged the router mid-interview, lecture versus treats did nothing
Last Tuesday I had a video call for a remote job in Austin, and right as I explained my portfolio, my cat Cheeto backed into the power strip and killed the wifi. I spent five minutes apologizing to the interviewer while he was frozen on screen, then I realized clicking my tongue and saying no never worked before either. I tried a stern voice the second time because that's what my dad did with our dog, but Cheeto just stared and knocked over my coffee mug. What actually saved the call was moving his food bowl next to my desk so he'd eat during future meetings. Has anyone else found a simple distraction that works better than discipline for their pet? When it's treat time, they're suddenly your best listener. I'm thinking about taping the strip to the wall now, but I'd love other ideas.
