Power stretcher slipped on a Berber job in Boise and I need a better setup
Last Wednesday I was stretching a 40 oz Berber in a rental over off Curtis Road, and my power stretcher's tail block slipped off the wall plate twice and tore a corner loose. It was a rental with cheap baseboard and the wall plate just wouldn't hold, so I'm thinking about building a wider block that hits the studs instead of the trim. Has anyone rigged up something that grips better on old drywall, or am I better off just slowing down and using a knee kicker on the last row?
