Old timer at the lumber yard told me to stop buying 2x4s and start picking my own, and he was right
Was digging through the cull pile at Fischer Lumber in Springfield last Tuesday when a retired framer named Walt walked up and said 'son, the good stuff is always hiding behind the front row.' Spent 20 extra minutes pulling from the back and every board I brought home was dead straight. Any of you got tricks for picking stock without wasting half your lunch break doing it?
