Lead carpenter told me my stair stringers were 'measured twice, cut wrong' so I switched to a story pole
After he said that in front of the whole crew, I started marking every riser cut off a single story pole instead of trusting my tape, and I haven't had a gap in a stringer since, but I'm wondering if anyone here still trusts the tape over a pole or if that's just old school.
