Scoffed at the $40 sleeping pad at REI in Boise, turns out it sleeps warmer than my old $130 one
Bought a cheap foam pad on a whim for a 3 night trip near Stanley last month, mostly because I forgot mine at home. Two of those nights hit 29 degrees and my back never felt cold once, which I can't say for my fancy inflatable. Only downside is it's bulky as heck to strap on, so now I'm torn on packing space vs sleep quality. Anyone got a trick for lashing a foam pad without your pack turning into a giant burrito?
