My gear spreadsheet hit 47 items and that's when I knew I had a problem
I started a spreadsheet two years ago just to keep track of what I actually owned for camping trips, and last week it hit 47 items. That's 4 tents, 6 stoves, and 11 headlamps for a guy who camps maybe 15 nights a year. The number itself wasn't the shock, it was realizing I could not name the last time I used half of it. I sat down with the list and marked everything I had not touched since 2023, and it came out to 19 items. Most of that stuff got bought after reading reviews here or watching a video at 1am. Now I'm second guessing every review I read because clearly something about the way I shop is broken. How many headlamps do you guys actually keep around, and where do you draw the line?
