Unpopular opinion: The best camera repairs happen when you're helping out at a street festival

Just fixed a jammed shutter on a tourist's camera right as the parade started, and the look on their face was everything.

But is fixing a camera in a rush really the best way to do it? I mean, you're out in the open with all that dust and noise, probably without the right tools. Sure, helping someone feels good, but I've seen folks mess up their gear worse by trying quick fixes in bad spots. It's nice to help, but calling it the 'best' repair seems like a stretch.

The "best camera repairs" for me usually end with extra parts left over.

Ever figure out where those extra bits were supposed to go? Taking pictures as I took things apart was the only thing that saved me.
