Warning: tried the pull string trick on a 3 story drop and learned something about tension
Last Tuesday I had a coax run down the side of a three story house in Tulsa and I tried tying a pull string to the end of the cable instead of fishing it separate. The string kept snagging on a vent pipe about halfway down and I ended up pulling the whole thing back up twice. What I figured out is that a light string has no weight to shake past a snag, so I switched to a heavier pull rope and it dropped clean in one try. Now I want to know how you all handle long outside drops, wet string, drop weight, or something else?
