Appreciation post: my 4,000th cable box install made me laugh out loud
Last Tuesday I hit my 4,000th box install and the funny part is the house was a total mess, dog kept trying to eat my coax crimper. The guy had like 6 TVs and wanted every single one live, so I ran 300 feet of cable through a crawlspace that smelled like old soup. I laughed because my first 1,000 installs took me almost 3 years, but the last 1,000 only took 14 months. A little old lady at that 4,000th house gave me a $5 tip and a cold Gatorade, which honestly beat the $50 bonus my company promised. It made me realize I have probably touched more cable than most people see in a lifetime. What milestone snuck up on you guys without you even noticing until later?
