Vent: my cousin said a plain notebook works the same as my bujo and I can't let it go
My cousin saw me setting up next month's spreads at her kitchen table in Denver and said I was wasting time on "glorified doodles" when a 99 cent notebook would do the same job. Here's the thing, she's wrong, because the index and the migration step are the whole point, not the fancy pens or the washi tape she kept poking fun at. I tried her way back in March, just one cheap spiral notebook with no system, and by week two I had no clue what I'd finished and three undone tasks buried under grocery lists. When I moved everything into my regular bujo setup that same month, I caught 11 tasks I'd forgotten about completely, including my dentist appointment I'd blown off in January. A plain notebook doesn't make you look at your own stuff, it just collects it, and there's a real difference. Does anyone else deal with people in their life who think the whole system is just craft hour, and how do you explain the migration part without sounding like a jerk?
