Standing in the cereal aisle at the Hy-Vee here in Des Moines, I did the math on the spot: the box of 8 mini boxes was $6.49 and a big bag of the same cereal was $2.99. Took me way too long to admit the small boxes were just a habit my mom had, and it cost her about $180 a year. What's the one thing you still buy the fancy version of out of pure habit?
