My neighbor's comment about my spider plant pups got me rethinking how I give them away
My neighbor Rosa stopped by last Saturday to pick up some spider plant babies and mentioned she keeps every pup in its own 4 inch pot with fresh soil instead of handing them out bare root like I do. She said bare root pups take about 3 extra weeks to settle in, and honestly I had never thought about it that way. So I started potting mine up before giving them away, and 6 out of 6 have rooted without a single leaf drop. Does anyone else pot their pups first, or do you hand them out bare root and let people figure it out?
