Learned the hard way that wheat paste goes bad fast in summer
Last month I mixed up a batch for a restoration job and left it covered on my bench for 4 days. By the time I opened it the smell hit me like a wall, mold was already forming on top. Anyone else store theirs in the fridge or do you just mix small batches each time?

That 4 day old batch stories got me gagging just reading it. I heard from an old timer that a splash of bleach keeps it from turning but honestly I'm too scared to try it on anything archival. Small batches and a cooler spot is all I trust now.
