I finally tried that cheap corner rounder from the craft store and it chewed up 6 signatures
Grabbed a $14 corner rounder at the Michael's on Ventura Blvd thinking it would save me time on a batch of 30 pamphlet-stitched booklets. By the sixth signature the blade was tearing instead of cutting, and I had to redo the whole run on my nipping press. If you round corners by hand, just use a good punch or a steel die, the plastic ones go dull after about 20 cuts. Has anyone found a bench-mounted rounder that actually holds an edge for a full batch?
Who thought a $14 plastic gadget from Michael's was gonna survive 30 signatures? That thing saw six and tapped out like it was union. Next time just ask the corner rounder if it's got a steel blade or a wish and a prayer.
