Blew $80 on a leather paring knife I used maybe three times
I got talked into buying a fancy English paring knife at a bindery supply sale in Portland six months ago, thinking it would fix my messy turn-ins, but the blade was so stiff I kept gouging the leather and went back to my cheap skiver. I'm out $80 and a few ruined spine strips, and honestly the old blade does a cleaner job once you keep it sharp. What do you all actually use for paring, or is it just practice and not the tool at all?
