Traded my Stephen King paperbacks for a beat up cookbook and I'm actually happy about it
So a guy named Marcus posted in our local swap group about wanting to get rid of a 1970s Joy of Cooking that belonged to his grandmother, and he had a stack of 6 Stephen King paperbacks he wanted too. I had doubles of 4 King books sitting in a box under my bed for like 2 years, so I figured why not. We met at a coffee shop in Boise last Saturday and I handed over the Kings and walked out with that cookbook plus a bonus copy of The Hobbit he threw in. I've already made the banana bread recipe twice and it beats the one my mom uses, which I will never admit to her face. The pages are stained and there's handwriting in the margins from his grandma, little notes like "add more nutmeg" next to the pie crust. That stuff is way cooler to me than another paperback I'd never reread anyway. Anyone else ever trade away books you thought you'd keep and end up glad you did?
