Our book club's 'The Great Gatsby' meeting turned into a two hour fight over Daisy Buchanan.
Half of us argued she was a victim of her time and class, while the other half called her a selfish coward who ruined lives. It got so heated that our host, Mark, had to pause the debate and bring out more wine. Where do you all stand on Daisy's character, honestly?

You said she was a victim of her time, but I see a woman who had real choices and made bad ones. She chose comfort over love and then let others clean up her mess. That is not a victim, that is someone who knows the cost and makes others pay it.

Exactly, that's just using people as a safety net.
