Tacked a tube sheet in Mobile and half the welds cracked on cool down, do I blame the rod or the preheat
Was on a boiler retube job in Mobile back in March, ambient was around 45F and I rushed the preheat on 2 inch stubs, lost 6 of 14 to cracking by morning. Do you guys run the same preheat spec regardless of ambient or adjust it for cold shop air, and does anyone actually trust the temp sticks when it's windy?
