Just found out a coal forge runs around 2,000 degrees and my cheapo thermometer only reads to 1,200
Picked up a $15 infrared gun off a buddy in Akron last week and it maxed out the second I pointed it at the firepot, so now I'm wondering what you all use to check heat without melting your gear.
