Warning: the white noise machine at my sister's place in Boise ruined my phone habit
I used to scroll for an hour every night until I stayed at her house two weeks ago and she had one humming in the guest room, and now I just lie there listening to rain sounds on my phone instead of reading anything, which feels calmer but also sort of empty, so I am curious if anyone else made that switch and stuck with it.
So you traded doomscrolling for rain sounds and now you just lie there in the dark like a very relaxed potato. I mean, your sister basically became your sleep coach by accident, which is funny when you think about it. Two weeks is pretty early though, so who knows if this sticks or if you go right back to the scroll once you're home. Maybe it's just me but the empty feeling might be your brain missing all that chaos it got used to. At least the rain can't show you bad news or make you buy stuff you don't need.
