My neighbor's comment changed how I set up my feeder line
Last month, my neighbor across the fence watched me hang a new tube feeder and said "you're just feeding the squirrels with that placement," so I moved it 8 feet further from the oak branch. Now the finches actually stick around instead of scattering every time a squirrel drops in. Anyone else had a simple observation from a non-birder that fixed a problem you'd been ignoring?
