Blue jays are secretly planting trees for us, wild

Read that a single blue jay can stash up to 5,000 acorns in one fall and forgets where it buried most of them. Watched one in my yard this week hide a peanut in a planter and then stare at the dirt like it had no clue. Anyone else notice them doing fake burying moves to trick squirrels, or is mine just weird?
