Unpopular opinion: that 30-cent iodine tablet did more for my Sierra water plan than my $90 filter
I packed a Sawyer Squeeze for the Rae Lakes loop back in August and still ended up treating water with iodine tabs half the trip. The filter clogged on day two near Woods Creek and the tablets were the only thing keeping me moving. Two liters, four tabs, wait 30 minutes, done. Now I want to know how many of you actually trust chemical treatment over a filter on a 5-day stretch, and which one you reach for when the flow gets slow.
