Back in 2019, my whole budget plan was a sticky note on my fridge.
It just said 'spend less' next to a pizza coupon. Then my car needed a $1200 repair in March and that system fell apart. Now I use a free app called Mint and actually track every coffee, which is boring but my bank account in Chicago looks way better. Anyone have a less tedious app they like for this stuff?

The sticky note system was ahead of its time.

The sticky note system is a classic, right up there with balancing your checkbook on a napkin. My 2019 budget was just a sad face drawn next to my overdraft fee notice. Tracking every coffee sounds like a special kind of torture though, like counting individual cereal flakes. There's got to be a middle ground between complete money blindness and logging a two dollar bagel.
