Rebuilt a 4L60E in my garage and it took 3 weekends just to get the valve body right
Took me 22 hours over 3 weekends to get the valve body clean enough to shift right. A $12 can of brake cleaner and a toothbrush finally did what my parts washer couldn't. Anyone else got a shortcut for cleaning those tiny passages or am I just slow?
Brake cleaner and a toothbrush is honestly the move, sounds crazy but those little wire brushes from Harbor Freight get in the tight spots too. Reminds me of when I spent a whole Saturday trying to unclog the pilot jet on an old dirt bike carb, tiny little hole the size of a pin. Must have soaked it and blown it out twenty times before my buddy handed me a strand of copper wire from some scrap and it popped right through. Twenty minutes of fighting and that was all it took. Sometimes the cheap dumb fix beats all the fancy tools.
