PSA: I watched three guys in a row strip the same bolt on a Ford 6.7L turbo because they used a 12-point socket.

The flange bolts are a soft 12mm but everyone grabs a 12-point thinking it's fine, and after the third truck came in with rounded heads, my boss made us buy a set of 6-point impact sockets just for that job.

That 12-point socket thing is a universal shortcut trap.

Watched my buddy try to force one on a rounded bolt last weekend. He ended up stripping it completely and had to drill the thing out. Totally not worth the supposed time save.
