Warning: cheap masking tape bled through on a $1,200 respray in my bay last Tuesday
I was shooting a metallic blue on a 2019 Civic and used the bargain tape from the parts store down on Grand Ave to save a few bucks on materials. The edge lifted in two spots near the wheel arch and I got bleed lines that showed up after clear, so I had to sand back and redo the whole quarter panel. Has anyone found a tape around the $8 mark that actually holds a clean line, or am I stuck paying up for the good stuff?
