Unpopular opinion: the 30 minute flash time on body filler is mostly a suggestion, not a rule
I was at a shop in Reno last month and the lead guy there told me he waits 45 minutes on Rage Gold before he touches it, no matter what the can says. I always went by the label, around 20 to 30 minutes depending on temp, and figured that was that. He said rushed sanding is where most of his comebacks came from, especially on hot days when the surface feels dry but the middle is still soft. I tried it on a quarter panel repair and the sandpaper stopped loading up on me. Anyone else stretch their flash time past what the tube says, or am I just slow now?
