Took me an entire day to find a crushed rocker leak that was right in front of me

I had a 2018 F-150 towed in last Tuesday from a fender bender, the rocker panel was smashed on the passenger side. After I pulled the dent and did the repair, I filled the tank with air to check for a leak before sealing. Nothing showed up on the first pass, so I spent the morning scrubbing soapy water over every weld seam twice. Then I got smart and pressure tested from the other end, still nothing. Turns out the impact had split a spot weld behind the inner brace, but it only opened up when the panel flexed under vacuum. I finally saw it when I pushed on the metal with my thumb and the bubble started dancing. I told my helper, "If I had just pushed on that seam first, we'd be done by lunch." Has anyone else had a hidden split like that, or do you guys cut the inner liner out right away when a rocker is crushed that bad?
