Just realized I blew $180 on a paint mixing system that fights me every single time
So here is the thing. Last winter I bought a digital scale and mixing cups setup for $180, thinking it would speed up my basecoat matches and cut down on wasted product. But it has been six months and I swear I have poured out more messed up batches than I ever did by eye with a stick and a bucket. Half the time the scale drifts after a few ounces, and the app that comes with it loves to freeze right when I am trying to log a formula. My buddy at the shop across town swears by his cheap $30 kitchen scale and a notebook, and his matches come out fine every time. So now I am stuck wondering if I am just bad at using the fancy system or if these things are a total waste for small shops. Did any of you drop real cash on a mixing setup and end up going back to the old way?
