Wrote off that $30 Svbony light pollution filter for my Bortle 7 backyard, one clear night in Tucson changed my mind
I shoot from my driveway in the suburbs where I can barely make out Orion some nights, so I figured a cheap clip-in filter was just a gimmick. Last Tuesday I finally tried the Svbony UHC on the Orion Nebula and the difference in contrast around the trapezium was obvious even on my unmodified DSLR. Has anyone else gotten surprisingly good results from budget filters, or did I just get lucky with a decent copy?
