DAE try to dig a garden bed and end up finding what looked like a 200 year old spoon?
So last Saturday I was digging up a bed for tomatoes behind my place in Roanoke and about 14 inches down my shovel hit something metal. Turned out to be a rusty old spoon, and I got way too excited thinking I'd found some colonial relic. Took it to the local historical society and the guy there laughed and said it was a 1950s camp spoon, probably dropped by a kid, worth about two dollars. Lesson learned, dirt is full of junk that looks ancient until someone who knows stuff looks at it. Has anyone else dug up something in their own yard and had it turn out way more boring than you hoped?
