I finally asked the old climber why he still uses a handsaw for anything under 6 inches
He stopped mid cut on a red oak in Asheville and said 'a chainsaw tells you when it's done, a handsaw tells you when you're done,' and I have not looked at a top handle the same way since, so tell me I am not the only one who got humbled by a $25 tool.
