PSA: My neighbor told me his washing machine 'just needed a hug' after I fixed it.

He was totally serious, said he'd been patting it for a week before calling me. Has a customer ever given you a repair reason that made you pause?

Tough love might work on some things, but @hugo_cooper43, appliances really just need the right care. Smacking a TV that's on the fritz can actually damage the internal parts for good. A gentle tap might jiggle a loose wire, but anything more is just asking for a bigger repair bill.
