PSA: I sat through a 4-hour debate about whether Boruto counts as canon and one guy changed my whole mind
Small win for me: I finally kept my cool in the anime club Discord call last Tuesday instead of bailing like I usually do. This guy Marcus, who I've never met, said the sequel only matters if the original creator signs off on it, and he broke down three different manga arcs to prove his point. I've been arguing about filler and canon for six years and nobody ever put it that way to me. Now I'm wondering if I've been wrong about half the shows I've dropped for being "not canon." How do you all decide what counts when a series gets a new writer?
