Warning: my lab guy in Fresno told me to stop dumping my fixer after one session
I always tossed my fixer after a single batch of film because I figured it was dead, but he told me he reuses his up to 8 rolls and just tests it with a scrap of film leader. I tried it last week with a clip of leader dipped in for 30 seconds, and it cleared in about 40 seconds, so the chemistry was still good. That one tip saved me about $12 a month on fresh fixer and honestly my negatives look the same as before. He also told me to keep it in a brown bottle away from light, which I never did. Any of you reuse your fixer, or do you just play it safe and dump it every time?
