Rant: My little leather awl kept walking off the workbench, so I drilled a hole in a cheap bar of soap
Every time I set my stitching awl down it disappeared under scraps and I wasted 10 minutes hunting for it on a weekend bag project last month. A guy at the leather shop in Rochester showed me to keep a bar of soap on the bench and stab the awl into it, and now the tip stays sharp and I always know where it is. Does anyone have a better trick for keeping small hand tools from vanishing mid-project?
