Overheard a guy at the flea market say his 1960s drill press outlived two marriages
I took that as a sign to finally fix my grandfather's rusty Delta from 1974 instead of buying new, so does anyone know a good place in Pittsburgh for vintage motor parts or am I just asking for trouble?
My buddy Pete tracked down a 1958 Craftsman motor for his old lathe through a guy in Millvale who basically ran a graveyard of old power tools out of his garage. He said the whole thing cost him less than a tank of gas and a six-pack, and that motor still runs smooth as butter today. Point is, vintage parts are out there if you dig around the right swap meets and local repair shops, so I’d say fix that Delta before you even look at a new one.
