My cafe origami started a paper swap with strangers

I fold origami cranes in my free time at a local cafe. A barista noticed and wanted to learn. Now, other customers bring paper to swap. We show each other how to make new shapes. It's nice to connect with strangers this way.

That part about swapping paper with strangers reminded me of my friend who used to leave folded origami animals on library shelves. He never stuck around to see people find them, but one day a kid left a poorly folded frog next to his butterfly. It turned into this whole quiet back-and-forth over weeks. They never met, but he said it felt like a real connection, just through little paper shapes. It’s cool how something so simple can open up a little space for people to meet. Your cafe thing sounds like that but better because you actually get to see each other.

Wow, my buddy had a similar thing with chalk art on his sidewalk.

Love that quiet back and forth magic.
