Found out my grandpa's old hand plane is worth more than my table saw, and it cost him $4 in 1962
Was digging through his toolbox last weekend and found the receipt taped inside the case, a Stanley No. 4 he bought at a hardware store in Akron for $4.25, and I looked it up on my phone and clean ones go for $80 to $150 now, so I guess the lesson is old tools hold value way better than anything I've bought new, has anyone else found a receipt or price tag inside a tool they inherited?
