A retired 747 pilot's comment about torque wrenches stuck with me
Was helping a friend move a crate engine last week and his dad, who flew 747s for 26 years, saw my torque wrench and said 'trust the click, not your hands.' I always second-guessed that final click on landing gear bolts, but now I just walk away after it clicks. Anyone else have a similar advice moment that changed how you run a torque check?

Man, that's great advice. I had a similar moment with an old machinist who told me to stop fighting the ratchet and just let the tool do its job. I used to always give it that extra little grunt after the click, you know, just to be safe, and he called me out on it hard. Now I trust the calibration and my life is way simpler, my wrists thank him too.
