Vent: my air fryer smoke alarm moment in Denver
Last Tuesday I put in a batch of frozen mozzarella sticks at 400 degrees and walked to the living room to check my phone. Three minutes later the kitchen filled with smoke because I forgot to shake the basket and the cheese dripped onto the heating coil. I had to open both windows and wave a towel for 10 minutes until the alarm stopped. Anyone else had a similar scare with cheese or grease causing a mini fire drill in their apartment?

That mozzarella stick incident is basically a rite of passage for air fryer owners, honestly. The cheese drip always finds the hottest spot at the worst possible time. My last scare was with frozen taquitos, same exact thing, grease pool and smoke everywhere. Now I keep a spray bottle of water near the fryer just for these moments, feels dumb but it works. The towel waving panic is universal, so you're definitely not alone in this.
