Chose between my 3 quart and 5.8 quart air fryer for a whole chicken and picked wrong
So I had a 4 pound bird and two air fryers sitting on the counter, the little 3 quart one I got from my sister and the big 5.8 quart I bought at Costco last month. I figured the small one would cook faster and be easier to clean, so I jammed that chicken in there at 375 for 50 minutes. The top got golden but the inside near the bone was still pink at 45 minutes, so I had to finish it in the big one anyway, which took another 20 minutes and dried out the breast. Next time I'm just using the big basket from the start, that 3 quart is only good for fries and nuggets. Has anyone else tried spatchcocking a chicken in a 5.8 quart or is that a waste of time?
