Warning: the 3am bird call recording I found is just a guy in Iowa whistling
I was up at 2:40am last Tuesday and fell down a rabbit hole on a birding forum where someone posted a clip of a "rare nightingale" that turned out to be a man named Dave in Des Moines whistling into his phone in his garage. It got 400 replies before anyone caught on, which says a lot about how we all just trust whatever we hear at that hour. Has anyone else run into a "nature recording" that was really just a person messing around?

I saw a whole thread once where people swore they heard a "cryptid scream" in the woods and it turned out to be a fox. Foxes sound like a woman being murdered, it's wild how many people fall for it.
