PSA: a guy at the 24hr laundromat on Halsey said 'you fold like you got somewhere to be' and it fixed my whole night
About 3 months back I was folding a load at 2am at the Spin City on Halsey and a guy maybe 70 years old next to me said I was folding like I had somewhere to be. I was just grabbing shirts out of the pile and smushing them flat, 12 shirts in like 90 seconds. He showed me to lay each one face down, fold the sleeves in first, then do the flip. Sounds silly but the pile came out half the size and nothing was wrinkled when the dryer buzzed. Now I sit down and do it one at a time and it honestly feels calmer than doomscrolling. Funny how a random 2am stranger can hand you a better habit than a whole app. Anyone else get a tip at some weird hour that stuck with them?
